Octave Mandolin
Often called a mandola this type of instrument derives from the mandolin. The typical tuning is mandolin tuning (EADG), but one octave lower.
The style of this instrument is based on the Elizabethan Cittern. The instrument is suitable for both melody and chord work.

Made by the maker using traditional Classical Guitar rosette making techniques. The design is built up from 1mm square padauk and sycamore stock.
Based on Dreadnought bracing (click here for details). The cross braces are deep to add the strength necessary to support a floating bridge.
